I was recently listening to a podcast where the host tackled uncomfortable questions we all need to ask ourselves. One question stood out: What would you focus on if you weren’t afraid of failing?
Fear is a constant companion in life. For some, it’s the fear of failure, while for others, it’s the fear of success. Yes, fearing success is a real thing. Success often requires stepping into a larger version of yourself—taking on bigger opportunities, bigger responsibilities, and navigating the visibility of a bigger stage. That can feel daunting.
On the flip side, fear of failure stirs deep emotions. We’ve seen how failure is met—with shame, guilt, ridicule, or mockery from others. It’s no wonder so many of us choose to play it safe.
But here’s what that podcast reminded me: failing doesn’t matter—MOVING does.
So, what’s the next step you can take?
We often get paralyzed by the thought of failure and end up not moving at all. Yet, your future self is rooting for you to take even the smallest step forward, even if the full path isn’t visible.
As we embrace 2025, my hope is that we keep moving forward. Failing doesn’t matter; what matters is the next step.
With this in mind, I’ve been thinking about how to bridge the ideas I share on LinkedIn and through my podcast newsletter. I’ve found my anchor: This Moment Matters—my Substack space where I dive deeper into these reflections.
Let’s keep moving, because failing doesn’t matter—but this moment does.
